A grandad’s wish to his grandchild
On November 16, 2025, Amitabh Bachchan sent a deeply emotional message to his granddaughter, Aaradhya, as she turned 14. Writing on his personal blog, he began with warmth and blessing: Blessings on the eve of the little one, Aaradhya … the child in us all grows with time and we wish them the mostest … we pray the same … and today be the dawn of the loved one’s birth … all blessings.

Along with the post, Big B also opened up about recent personal upheavals and farewells without naming anyone specifically. He admitted he has been carrying the sadness of loss … of immense grief in recent days, referring to recent upheavals and farewells without naming names. He added that despite this heaviness, life continues. We live … we perceive … we persist, persevere and continue the odds of life … and the show goes on.
Amitabh also expressed gratitude toward his fans, apologising gently for not being able to reply to all the birthday wishes individually, but promising that every message was deeply felt.
This is not the first time he has shared his emotions about Aaradhya in writing. Earlier, he posted after attending her annual school day, saying, Children … their innocence and desire to be at their best in the presence of parents … such a delight … and when they are in the company of thousands performing for you … it is the most exhilarating experience. That post highlighted his pride in her, not just as a child, but as a young person carving her own space.
