In the final episode, Carrie Finch’s real identity is revealed as Josephine Murphy. She abducted Milo because he was her biological son, switched at birth after a fatal car accident years ago involving Peter and Marissa Irvine.
Carrie never intended to harm Milo. During a tense confrontation, Peter shoots her to stop her from exposing the truth. She dies, leaving Marissa to discover that Peter had swapped their deceased baby with Carrie’s newborn after the crash.
