Pilots assure that nothing was seen at the airport… not even passengers
Saint Lucia without air traffic (as always).– The Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA, for its acronym type “Santa Lucía”) announced the temporary suspension of flights due to dense fog.
This morning’s weather phenomenon caused reduced visibility of up to three passengers per square meter, a figure that did not significantly affect operations, but did cause the cancellation of unscheduled flights.

“We do it by protocol, not because there are flights”clarified an air traffic controller when interviewed about the causes of the delays and cancellations.
The AIFA will have a quiet day
Although it was expected that today would be quiet in air activity (like every day, basically), the authorities activated the corresponding protocols, consisting of notifying the two pilots assigned that week and preparing coffee for the soldiers who guard the parking lot, with the instruction to inform anyone who approached the airport that “there would be no flights today either.”
““There’s fog, take a look tomorrow and see what’s up,” the air traffic controller shouted from the tower to two residents of Pachuca who were asking how to get to Toluca.
According to the official report, operations will resume “as soon as the fog lifts and the budget for the next flight is authorized”which could occur somewhere between April and the last quarter of 2029, depending on the direction of the wind and the presidential mood.
