JAKARTA, Indonesia.- This Tuesday, police authorities reported that a fire broke out in a seven-story building in Jakarta, where the offices of the Japanese drone company Terra Drone operated, and in which at least 22 people lost their lives.
The head of the Central Jakarta Police, Susatyo Purnomoconfirmed to reporters that 22 people died at the scene, where fire department inspections were delayed due to smoke and high temperatures.
Among the deceased are seven men and 15 women, including a pregnant woman, according to the Police.

A short circuit, possible cause of the accident
At least 15 people were evacuated alive from the place, indicated the public agency Antarawho added that firefighters believe that a short circuit caused the accident.
The affected building, known in Jakarta as the Torre de Terra Droneis a complex of offices, including some of the Japanese company that is the global leader in drone solutions and advanced air mobility.
Susatyo explained that firefighters inspected the fourth and fifth floors of the building, but inspections on the sixth and seventh floors were delayed due to the density of the smoke.
Several lifeless bodies were removed from the scene wrapped in red bags, while some of the survivors received medical care and emotional support nearby.

In addition to throwing water, firefighters used cranes and broke glass walls in the building to speed up the extinguishing work and search for survivors.
