The federal government announced an unprecedented opportunity for thousands of young people seeking to enter the world of work. On the occasion of World Cup 2026the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare reported that the program Young People Building the Future will open five thousand vacancies to support activities related to the sporting event.
The head of the agency, Marath Baruch Bolaños López, explained that this initiative is part of a national plan that seeks to take advantage of the magnitude of the tournament to boost the economy, promote tourism and reinforce community actions linked to sport.

The official call will be announced in April 2026, the date from which applicants will be able to register on the program’s digital platform. The positions will be oriented to tasks of Tourism, Culture, Hospitality and Reception of visitors in various public institutions, considering the high influx that is expected during the World Cup. The young people will receive practical training and, once the tournament is over, they will continue to be involved in other activities for the rest of their training year.
In terms of benefits, Young People Building the Future maintains the usual benefits: monthly support equivalent to the minimum wage — which in 2025 is 8,840 pesos, subject to annual adjustment — and medical coverage through the IMSS. The scheme has a total duration of 12 months, a period in which apprentices must attend five to eight hours a day, five days a week.
To access any of the vacancies, the central requirements are: be between 18 and 29 years old, not be studying or working at the time of starting the training and comply with the assistance established by the work centers. The necessary documentation includes current official identification, CURP, proof of recent address, current photograph and the registration form.
At the end of the process, participants will receive a certificate that certifies the skills acquired, which will facilitate their job placement after completing the program.
