MEXICO CITY.- So far this year the number of political figures have been victims of a fatal attack, it already exceeds 100 and the case of Carlos Manzomunicipal president of Uruapan who was killed over the weekend by armed individuals in a public space.

Alejandro Arcos Catalán was elected municipal president of Chilpancingo and was murdered days after taking office. The same thing happened with Román Ruiz Bohórquez, mayor of Candelaria, Oaxaca.

Mario Hernández García, mayor of Amoltepec, Oaxaca; Isaías Rojas Ramírez from Cotija, Michoacán; Salvador Bastida of Tacámbaro, Michoacán; Acasio Flores from Malinaltepec, Guerrero and Miguel Bahena from Pisaflores, Hidalgo are other murdered mayors.
