During the program, Ronnie entered a small football field and received a pass from the program presenter, Romesh Ranganathan. The former Manchester United star took control of the ball and then raised it above his head before kicking it into an empty net, amidst a state of astonishment that spread throughout the audience.

The program presenter ran towards Rooney and hugged him to celebrate the goal, just as Jamie Redknapp and Alex Broker did, who went towards Rooney with great happiness, as described by the British newspaper “The Sun”.

Rooney reminded English Premier League fans of his amazing goal that he scored against Manchester City on February 12, 2011, a match that ended in a 2-1 victory for the Red Devils.

That day, Rooney received a cross from Portuguese Nani, and converted it with a stunning scissor into the net in the 78th minute.

In May of the following year (2012), Rooney’s goal was voted the best in the history of the English Premier League, as confirmed by The Sun.

Rooney said at the time, “I grew up watching Premier League matches, and to be chosen as the scorer of the best goal in the history of the Premier League is a wonderful feeling.”

He added, “There are many wonderful goals on the shortlist, goals that I saw in the living room when I was a child: the goals of Alan Shearer, Paolo Di Canio, Tony Yeboah, and David Beckham. To compete with them and win is a great honor for me, and something I am very proud of. I would like to thank all the fans who voted for me.”

After being dismissed from coaching at Plymouth Argyle in December last year, Rooney is currently focusing on his new work in the field of television analysis, by appearing as a primary analyst on the famous program “Match of the Day”, and also launching his own program, “The Wayne Rooney Show”.
