Algerian star Riyad Mahrez, player of Al-Ahly Jeddah, was the first to mock the decision, as he posted a laughing face on his official Snapchat account, moments after the penalty kick was awarded.

Turkish Merih Demiral, Al-Ahly’s defender and Mahrez’s teammate, followed the same path, and posted a sarcastic smiley on his official account on the “X” platform.

For his part, Portuguese Ruben Neves, the Al Hilal midfielder, expressed his mockery of the penalty kick in the same way, but he put a group of smileys through the “photos” feature on his Instagram account, in a clear indication of his dissatisfaction with the “controversial” decision.

On the same platform, Brazilian Malcolm, Al Hilal striker, shared a sarcastic post in which he wrote, “Super Penalty,” with a group of smiling and angry faces.

During the match, the guest Al-Fayhaa was the first to open the scoring in the 13th minute through its player Gasson Remesero, before Ronaldo equalized the score for the hosts in the 37th minute.

Ronaldo returned to score the valuable victory goal in stoppage time, after successfully executing the penalty kick, as he shot a powerful ball that landed in the roof of the goal.

Al-Nasr strengthened its lead in the Saudi League standings with 21 points, 3 points ahead of Al-Taawoun, which is in second place, and 4 points ahead of its third-place rival, Al-Hilal, while Al-Ahly is in fifth place with 13 points.
