The Egyptian national team raised its score to 4 points, ahead of Venezuela on goal difference, which has the same score of points, while England scored 3 points after its crushing 8-1 victory over Haiti earlier today.
Venezuela’s captain, Marcos Maitán, put his team ahead with a header in the 18th minute that went into the net of Omar Abdel Aziz, Egypt’s goalkeeper.

Egypt had an opportunity to equalize in the 21st minute through a quick attack when Hamad ran quickly and passed the Venezuelan defense to go one-on-one on goal, but the goalkeeper saved his goal.
Abdel Aziz blocked a powerful shot and followed it up by saving another attempt before the referee blew his whistle for offside.
The right post of Egypt’s goal denied Venezuela the opportunity for a second goal in the penultimate minute of the first half.
Hamad received a direct red card in the 60th minute after returning to the video technology, which the Venezuela coach requested asylum.
In the 72nd minute, the Egyptian national team used the challenge card to demand a red card for one of the Venezuelan players, but the referee ordered the resumption of play.
