After his arrest, Álvarez Puga was transferred to the Krome North SPC processing center, where the Customs and Border Protection (ICE) reported that it remains, although without direct and immediate relationship with the tax complaints opened in Mexico.
This occurs despite the existence of a red card issued by Interpol within the framework of investigations in the country.
Until now, The US authorities have not confirmed communication between both governments to agree on the extradition processalthough the case for corruption and money laundering remains open in Mexico, in charge of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).

According to data revealedthe FGR issued arrest warrants since September 2021 for organized crime and operations with resources of illicit origin for both Álvarez Puga and Gómez Mont, although the latter has not been located.
Currently, both are considered fugitives from justice. However, with the recent location of Víctor Álvarez, the Federal Government sees the possibility of requesting his extradition to face a trial closer.
