The Collective Transportation System (STC) reported that this Tuesday afternoon 12 people were injured after an accident on an electromechanical staircase at the Ciudad Deportiva station, belonging to Line 9 of the Metro.

According to the first reports, The incident originated when a person carrying large packages lost balance, causing a domino effect that caused several users to fall.
Personnel from Institutional Security, Civil Protection, Industrial Security and Comprehensive Risk Management went to the scene to provide support and activate the Metro’s institutional insurance. Three of the affected people were taken to hospitals for medical evaluation.
The general director of the STC, Adrián Rubalcava, ordered a detailed report of the event and the support provided to the injured users, in addition to personalized follow-up through the user service area.
Finally, the Metro called on passengers to use the escalators correctly and thus avoid new accidents.
