An element of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIG) of the State Attorney General’s Officewas shot to death aboard his truck in the vicinity of the Malecón, in the municipality of Yuriria, Guanajuato.
Armed men shot him until they took his life in the street San Pablo corner with Lake Chapala, in the Santa María neighborhood; and 14 year old teenager who was near the point of the attack was hit by bullets.
Preliminary investigations show that the ministerial police officer was overtaken by the attackers, who were riding a motorcycle, in which they fled the scene.
The State Attorney General’s Office indicated that agent Gustavo Niño Juárez was deprived of his life on his day of rest.

The Secretariat of Security and Peace reported that the teenager, a collateral victim of the violent event, had injuries to his forearm from a firearm projectile; he was discharged shortly after.
