Settlers set fire to a house east of Ramallah on Saturday, causing injuries, while occupation soldiers carried out new attacks and incursions in Jenin and Hebron in the West Bank.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that the settlers attacked the house during the night, and indicated that the family was able to leave through the back door of the house after a number of its members suffocated.
Local sources reported that settlers set fire to a house in the village of Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah, at dawn on Saturday, causing parts of it to catch fire and causing a number of family members to suffocate before they were able to escape.
Local Palestinian sources from the village confirmed that the occupation forces later stormed the vicinity of the house and fired bullets at the civilians present, without reporting any injuries.
In Hebron, a citizen was injured and bruised today, Saturday, after Israeli occupation soldiers beat him, in the town of Yatta, south of Hebron, in the West Bank.
Security and local sources reported to “Wafa” that the occupation forces stormed the house of citizen Osama Tarad Abu Aram in the town of Yatta, and severely beat him and his family members, causing him to suffer injuries and bruises, after which he was transferred to receive treatment at Yatta Hospital, and his injury was described as moderate.
On another level, the occupation forces set up several military checkpoints at the entrances to Hebron, its towns, villages and camps, in addition to closing a number of main and secondary roads with iron gates, cement cubes and earth mounds.
As for the city of Jenin, the Israeli occupation forces stormed the town of Ya`bad, southwest of the city, at dawn on Saturday.
The mayor of Ya’bad, Amjad Atatreh, reported that the occupation forces stormed the town, raided a number of homes, forced their owners to evacuate them, turned them into military barracks, and closed shops at the entrance to the town.
He added that the occupation forces closed the road leading to the Al-Taram area, north of the town, with earth mounds.
He added that the occupation forces raided his house, threatened to close the town, and destroy its homes.
766 assaults
For its part, data revealed by the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority indicated the documentation of more than 766 attacks carried out by settlers against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank during last October.
The pace of settlement attacks in the Jordan Valley has escalated, and the occupation seeks through this to impose new realities and complete demographic change.
After the occupation abandoned 32 Bedouin communities, it worked to establish new settlement outposts in the region to seize the land.
These attacks fall within a broad wave of Israeli escalation in the West Bank by the army and settlers, which began coinciding with the start of the Israeli war of annihilation in Gaza on October 8, 2023.
These attacks in the West Bank resulted in the death of 1,068 Palestinians and the injury of about 10,000 others, in addition to the arrest of more than 20,000 Palestinians, including 1,600 children.
While the two-year genocide in Gaza left about 69,000 martyrs and more than 170,000 wounded.
