As part of the Christmas activities, the program Points of Innovation, Freedom, Art, Education and Knowledge (PILARES) iinvites citizens to be part of the second staging of The Nutcracker, which will be performed by more than 500 girls and boys which are part of the 300 PILLARS education and culture centers in the capital.
With this, the city reinforces its commitment to offering cultural spaces and recreational activities accessible to all audiences, while promoting the learning and development of children.
When, where and at what time will the presentation of The Nutcracker be in CDMX?
The gala will take place this coming Friday, November 28 at 11:30 a.m. sharp, on the esplanade of the iconic Palace of Fine Artslocated on Juárez Avenue, Centro Historico neighborhood, in the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office.
Based on the work of Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky, but with an innovative adaptation that includes classical, folkloric, contemporary, Arabic, African and urban dancethe performance of The Nutcracker promises to be an ethereal and unforgettable experience that is completely worth seeing.
In addition, the musical arrangements will be under the direction of the Opus 88 Orchestrawho will be in charge of creating the characteristic Christmas atmosphere of this classic with her instruments.
Will there be other performances of The Nutcracker?
After this event, the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico and the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL)through the National Dance Company (CND) and the Orchestra of the Theater of Fine Arts (OTBA)together with the National Auditorium, invite you to enjoy The Nutcracker from December 18 to 23.
With 240 artists involved from the CND and the OTBA, the public will be able to enjoy a professional show with several performances available on el National Auditoriuml.
