Mexico City. – The event led by the mayor Luis Mendoza in Benito Juarez about him cry of independence On September 15, it cost 7.6 million pesos. The document that reveals the expense was revealed almost three months later, in addition to being altered with scratches that make it difficult to read, which goes against the General Archives Law and is classified as a serious administrative offense.
The Subdirectorate of Logistics and Events of BJ was responsible for executing the contract DGAFyO/S-045-A03/2025 in which it requested the company Logística AMFA SA de CV for the “Comprehensive service for the commemoration of the CCXV anniversary of the cry of independence” which involved an expense of 7 million 698 thousand 920 pesos, according to the latest contracting reports. This document belongs to the third quarter of 2025, so at the end of September it had to be reported as part of the accountability, however, its consultation was released until December.

The event of the first cry of Mexican Independence of Luis Mendoza It featured the musical casts of Mariachi Gama 1000 and the group Moenia. In the contract, the mayor’s office did not specify what amount was allocated exclusively to paying the artists or towards other logistics and food requirements, it only indicated what the general cost was. The spending of the current administration exceeded that made by Santiago Taboada in his 2021-2024 administration. The former mayor in 2022 allocated 2 million 556 thousand pesos for the cry for independence and in 2023 the amount of 5 million 862 thousand pesos.
The contract reported for the 2025 national celebration has scratches in all paragraphs, but they intensify in the section of the responsible company and the amount of resources awarded. The Archives Law indicates that authorities such as mayors can hide personal data, however, the rest of the text must remain legible and unaltered. In cases such as the contract made by the mayor’s office BJthe regulations indicate that by not protecting the official document in optimal conditions, the information is hidden and access to public documents is obstructed, which is why it is a serious administrative offense, which can be punished with fines, disqualification or dismissal from office.
