7 years of well-being for the people
December 1, 2018 is a date that Mexicans will always carry in their hearts. With the arrival of our beloved Andrés Manuel López Obrador the Government of Mexico formally started the Fourth Transformation of this great nation. And I say this because this movement was born several years ago and became stronger thanks to the enormous efforts of Morena militants and sympathizers, but also of the citizens.
It was not easy to get to National Palace because neoliberal governments used cheating in each electoral process. The dishonest use of public resources and the coercion of voting were its main characteristic. But the people are good and wise – as the best President we have ever had said – and they gave us their vote of confidence at the polls that year, which they endorsed in 2024 and allowed us to have today the first female President, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum.
Therefore, last Saturday was a day of celebration. He Zócalo of Mexico City and the surrounding streets looked full of people. Thousands and thousands of us did not miss the opportunity to celebrate, alongside our First President, the seven years of the Transformation. A transformation that advances firmly, strongly; with the support of the population; with actions, social programs and public policies designed in favor of everyone, particularly those who have the least.
Contrary to what the opposition and conservative groups claim, in Mexico we live in a full democracy, in which our rights are guaranteed, including freedoms of expression and demonstration. Although in these years we have made progress in various areas to achieve the well-being of the population, there is still much to do. But we will not give up.
Our struggle began in family talks, in neighborhoods and towns, in universities, in factories, in social mobilizations where we demanded a better standard of living, because previous administrations tried hard to keep the minimum wage static. Today is different and in 2026 it will increase another 13 percent. The wealth of our country is shared among everyone, because the 4T Yes, he thinks in favor of the people. This is how the greatness of Mexico is built.
