The three capitals in the Southern Region of Brazil will now have direct flights to Portugal. TAP Air Portugal announced this Monday, November 3rd, a route between Lisbon and Curitiba, in Paraná.

The first flight is scheduled for July 2, 2026. There will be three weekly flights — on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays — between the Portuguese capital and Afonso Pena International Airport. The operation will be carried out with Airbus A330-200 aircraft, with capacity for 269 passengers.

“Brazil is a strategic market of enormous relevance for our global operation. With the inauguration of the new route to Curitiba, we have expanded our presence in the country”, stated Carlos Antunes, TAP director for the Americas.

According to the executive, the new operation reinforces the company’s commitment to bringing Portugal and Brazil even closer together. “We want to be increasingly closer to Brazilians, offering a different travel experience, with more connectivity, comfort and efficiency towards Europe and beyond”, he said.

The governor of Paraná, Ratinho Junior, highlighted that the direct flight should boost tourism and business in the state. “The new route reinforces Paraná’s leading role on the global stage. This direct connection with Lisbon will facilitate the arrival of European tourists and expand business opportunities with Europe”, he stated.

Ticket sales start on November 11th, but prices have not yet been released. With the new destination, TAP will now operate direct flights to 14 Brazilian cities — the largest number among European airlines operating in the country.
