The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation has been continuing its dialogue opened by the exhibition ‘Brazil Complex’ with a series of activities that include music, dance, debates and performances in the coming months. The exhibition, which has been arousing interest among Brazilians and Portuguese curious about the different layers of the country, also has a complementary agenda that expands the conversations started in the galleries. The program continues until February 2026.
One of the activities takes place this Wednesday, November 26th, with the show-conversation Brasiliawhich brings together Adriana Calcanhotto, Guilherme Wisnik and Nuno Grande. In the coming days, events such as the performance Rimas in the Complexon the 29th, and two editions of the Pensamento e Canção meeting, with Tiganá Santana and José Miguel Wisnik, scheduled for December 6th and January 24th.

Also in December, the public will have a Samba Circle with the female collective Gira, on the 13th, at Jardim Gulbenkian, a free entry performance that brings together women multi-instrumentalists dedicated to reviving classics and presenting new samba voices, with arrangements marked by Afro-Brazilian rhythms and a strong dimension of representation.
The music continues with Samba de Guerrilha, by Luca Argel, on December 13th and January 17th. The agenda also includes the Confluences Laboratory (December 13), the RE.PA.RAR performance (January 8), conversations about traditional knowledge, meetings dedicated to Portuguese languages, Cuír mythology workshops, guided visits and activities aimed at young people and adults.
In January and February, the Football and Brazil cycle also appears, with José Miguel Wisnik and Raí, in addition to the performances Qual Brasil? Portuqual?, by Ricardo Aleixo (February 10), and Azira’I, with Zahy Tentehar (February 12).
Afro-Brazilian dance workshops, running between November and January, and the Bloco Pandeiro Lx workshop, also extended, complete the proposal, which is distributed across several spaces of the foundation. Visits with curators Brazil Complex They take place on two dates, on November 15th and February 14th, offering a more in-depth look at the exhibition.
