The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaumreported this Thursday that his Government maintains dialogue with families affected by the intense rains of October, whose homes are located in areas at high risk of flooding, in order to relocate them to safer places.
The rainfall left a balance of 83 people dead and 16 missing in the states of Hidalgo, Puebla, Querétaro and Veracruz.

During her morning press conference, the president He noted that during his visit to the affected municipalities, many people asked for relocation. “because we know that here if the river rises again we will have problems again.”
He stated that workers of the Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development of Mexico (Sedatu) They propose to those affected new areas for their location and the administration’s intention to “restore the homes.”
To this end, “through the National Housing Commission we are going to redirect part of the housing for well-being program to these projects,” he announced.
Regarding public awareness, he expressed: “The majority are convinced and if there is a person who is not, you cannot force them, but simply notify them that they are living in a high-risk area.”
Second aid package Sheinbaum reiterated that Starting Monday the 10th, the distribution of the second aid package focused on damage to homes, businesses and plots will begin. which is carried out through the public institution of the Banco de Bienestar.
“The first support of 20 thousand pesos (1,075 dollars) has already been given to nearly 100,000 families and we are now going with the second support that depends on what damage the home had,” the president explained.
