President Claudia Sheinbaum rejected the violence that occurred in the Zócalo after the march and said that changes must be sought peacefully.
“Today there was a demonstration there in Mexico City, where they say that young people marched, but in reality there were very few young people, and that they violently removed some fences and broke windows, we say no to violence. If one does not agree, one must demonstrate peacefully. Violence must never be used to change, always through peaceful means,” said the president.
From Jonuta, Tabasco, where she led the delivery of Benito Juárez scholarships, the head of the federal Executive indicated that political changes must be sought through peaceful means.
Sheinbaum assured that most historical changes were marked by violent revolts, but in 2018, the 4T peacefully came to power and has remained with the support of the majority of citizens.

“This Fourth Transformation that we are experiencing is peaceful. How was a change achieved in our country? In 2018, in a peaceful way, a change began in our country. We fought with López Obrador. From here, from Tabasco to Mexico City, there he began his fight, the fight of all of us, for the transformation of Mexico, and in a peaceful way, without breaking a single glass, we achieved the transformation of the country with the vote of the Mexicans.”
This Saturday, dozens of protesters, summoned to the so-called Generation Z march, tore down the metal wall that protected the National Palace and clashed for more than three hours with the Mexico City police, who retreated them to the banks of the Zócalo.
