“The murder of Carlos Manzo, mayor of Uruapan, is condemnable, cowardly and vile,” Sheinbaum highlighted.
The President highlighted three important points after the unfortunate event:
“First, condemn the homicide. Second, express solidarity and condolences to his family.” and loved ones. Third, inform that all investigations resulting from the arrests made by the Michoacán Prosecutor’s Office are being carried out; Likewise, all the necessary support is being provided by the Security Cabinet,” he said.
Finally, the President emphasized that there will be no impunity in the case: “We are going to continue all the investigations until we can find those responsible, not only materials, but also with who ordered the execution,” the President highlighted.

It was the afternoon of last Saturday, November 1, when Carlos Alberto Manzo Rodríguez, municipal president of Uruapan, was murdered in an armed attack that occurred in the center of the city, according to reports from the Mexican Security Cabinet, spread on social networks.
After the attack, two people were arrested as alleged perpetrators and one of the attackers died during the confrontation with security forces.
Carlos Manzo, who governed as independent municipal president, recently participated in various cultural and social events in the municipality, among them the inauguration of the Candle Festival, one of the most popular and representative celebrations in the region.
