The president Claudia Sheinbaum pointed out that the accusation that Nicolás Maduro injected “dirty money” into political campaigns in Mexico.
This Friday, the Mexican president was questioned about the statements of Marshall Billingsleaformer deputy secretary of the Treasury in Trump’s first presidency, that Maduro financed electoral campaigns in Mexico and Brazil.
“False (…) in any case, it should be investigated, but it has no basis,” he stated.
On October 21, Marshall Billingslea, a former Trump official, accused Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro of financing “dirty money” political campaigns in Mexico and Brazil.
During an appearance before the United States Congress, the former Undersecretary of the Treasury indicated, without presenting dates or documents, that the Maduro regime injected “corrupt” resources as part of his plan to foment “the socialist plague.”
“The key point here is that, when looking at the regime that has fostered the socialist plague that has spread throughout Latin America, it is the Venezuelans. It is corrupt and dirty Venezuelan money that financed Gustavo Petro’s campaign. “They channeled money to Mexico, they channeled money to Brazil,” stated the former Trump official.
They link Maduro to Hezbollah
The security expert even told US legislators that such is the link between the Government of Venezuelaand in particular of Maduro with terrorism, that his territory is already a Hezbollah headquarters, supposedly, in the Margarita Islands.
“Under Hugo Chávez, Venezuela opened its ports to Hezbollahallowing him to establish himself in the Margarita Islands, including with a paramilitary training camp.”

Already on his way, Billingslea hinted that The Trump government will be in charge of “reestablishing” democracy in Venezuela, and will end the alleged financing that he accused.
“This subversion money will run out once democracy is restored in Venezuela, where Maduro remains in power thanks to possible anomalies that occurred in the 2024 elections (…) This Venezuelan regime has fostered the socialist plague in the region. That money that was given will also end for the Cuban and Nicaraguan regime. “Many people forget the antics that Ortega does in Nicaragua with his people,” he stressed.
