President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed this Thursday in her morning conference, that on November 7 his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, will visit Mexico and they will hold a meeting focused on cultural, economic and diplomatic issues.
Sheinbaum highlighted that the main interest of his Government during the visit of the French presidentwill be the repatriation of the Borgia codices and another pre-Hispanic manuscript that are currently in France and that are part of the country’s historical heritage.

“Yes, Macron is coming on November 7, it was postponed, do you remember that he was going to come? We are very interested in some codices that the other day here José Alfonso (Suárez del Real, political advisor of the Government’s Social Communication Coordination) commented that we want them to arrive in Mexico, that is our main interest,” stated the President.
He explained that Macron’s trip will also include a meeting with French and Mexican businessmen, as part of strengthening bilateral economic relations.
Sheinbaum added that a joint conference is planned with the French president, although he specified that the details of the program are still being defined.

Macron’s visit to Mexico – originally scheduled for last September – will mark the first bilateral meeting between both countries under the Sheinbaum Administration. and is framed in the 200th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mexico and France.
