In this regard, the secretary, Mario Delgado Carrillo pointed out that, through this initiative, during the school cycle 2025-2026 Two million glasses will be delivered free of charge to public primary school students across the country diagnosed with visual problems, as part of the commitment to offer them a new look into the future.

The owner of the SEP He assured that, with the delivery of these glasses, practically all girls and boys who require them will be covered, so that their academic performance is not affected by visual limitations.
“With this, we ensure that each and every one of them has the same opportunities to learn, develop and grow with well-being,” he stated.
In this sense, he urged parents and families who have already received the Report of Results of the health evaluation of their daughters and sons – which indicates the detection of visual acuity problems – to go to a clinic for a second evaluation with an optometrist and, if necessary, receive the glasses for free.
He explained that, by providing glasses to primary school students, barriers that affect learning are eliminated and educational equity is promoted. “No boy or girl should be left behind because of this,” he emphasized.
He affirmed that the comprehensive health of the students constitutes one of the backbones of the Second Floor of the Fourth Transformation, headed by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

Likewise, he recalled that the Healthy Living articulating axis of the New Mexican School (NEM) establishes that health is a social, community and collective fact.
“No one gets sick alone, no one heals alone. Health is a social fact. Therefore, together we build the conditions so that new generations grow up full, equal, aware of their reality and, above all, healthy and happy,” he stressed.
