The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), in coordination with the Navy, arrested Marcos Josué “N” and Ángel Roberto “N”, alias “El Flaco”, allegedly involved in crimes against health and in violations of the Federal Firearms and Explosives Law.

The detainees would be members of the criminal group Cartel Nueva Generación (CNG). Marcos Josué “N” is designated as the main logistics operator, allegedly in charge of distributing weapons and tactical equipment in the municipalities of Benito Juárez, Puerto Morelos, Kantunilkín and Isla Mujeres.

During prevention and surveillance tours, elements of the SSC Investigation Group, together with personnel from the Ministry of the Navy, observed a gray vehicle and a white vehicle parked on public roads. In the trunk of the gray car, they detected two men, one of whom handed another a transparent bag with apparent marijuana.

Suspects tried to flee

Upon noticing the police presence, Both subjects tried to flee by boarding the vehicles; However, they were immediately intercepted on Sin Nombre Avenue, about 60 meters from the Kukulcana commercial consultancy, in the municipality of Benito Juárez.

At the scene, two large bags with dried green vegetables with characteristics similar to marijuana were seized; 13 bags with the same content; 52 bags with crystalline fragments similar to “crystal”; and 50 triangular bags with white powder similar to cocaine.

Weapons were seized from the detainees.

Two short weapons with magazines supplied with 7 and 11 cartridges were also seized; 32 long weapons, all with magazines (one supplied with 56 cartridges and another with 30); 12 additional handguns; 125 long gun magazines; two silencers; four anti-riot grenades and four chemical grenades.

In addition, 26 boxes with 50 cartridges each and 17 boxes with 20 cartridges were seized; nine bulletproof vests; nine black t-shirts with the legend “Deltas Q. Roo CNG”; 15 black “Jaguar Operations” caps; and six “Operative Jaguar Deltas” patches.

Other seizures include five notebooks with notes, two backpacks, three plastic boxes, a refrigerator, a suitcase, four cell phones, a large case, a gray case, three drones (one with a controller and two batteries), two pairs of license plates from the state of Jalisco, and two vehicles: a gray Volkswagen T-Cross and a white Nissan Frontier.

The evidence and the detainees were made available to the Special Prosecutor’s Office in Combating Drug Dealing Crime. The authorities indicated that these actions are part of the security table – made up of the SSC, the Defense, the Navy, the National Guard and the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) – and they reaffirmed their commitment to combat organized crime head-on to safeguard the integrity of the people of Quintana Roo.
