Rui Morais thus enters the administration of one of the “most relevant cultural centers in the country with public funding”, coming from the Artistic Production Organization (OPART), the entity that manages the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, Companhia Nacional de Bailado and Victor Córdon studios. Graduated in Law, Rui Morais has been a member of OPART since September 2022, being responsible for the artistic, educational, special and communication projects and marketing
In a statement, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports highlights that Rui Morais has “a musical background, was a consultant and artistic programmer, notably in the direction of the Cistermúsica festival in Alcobaça and, more recently, as the main person responsible for the resurgence of the Óbidos Opera Festival. He founded and directed several organizations dedicated to performance areas and collaborated in several cultural projects at national and international level”. The new administrator takes office on November 5th.
Rita Romão begins her duties on November 24th and has been, since November 2023, director of marketing, projects and partnerships at Fundação EDP. “With a degree in Economics and a master’s degree in Art History, He began his professional career at the Chiado Museum and was at the genesis of the Elipse Foundation. Having worked for several companies in the media, banking and consultancy sectors and collaborations with Higher Education institutions, he has three decades of experience in the areas of Culture, strategy and innovation”, highlights the Ministry of Culture.
Margarida Balseiro Lopes asks the CCB’s new administrators “to actively contribute to a project that is dynamic, consistent, dialoguing and sustainable, reinforcing the importance of artistic and cultural proposals on a national and international scale”.
