The Mexico City is preparing to receive one of the most anticipated events of the year: the Grand Day of the Dead Parade 2025which will be held on Saturday, November 1. From 2:00 p.m.thousands of people will gather to witness the route that will start from the Puerta de los Leones, in the Chapultepec Forest, to the Plaza de la Constitución (Zócalo), passing through some of the most emblematic avenues of the capital.
As every year, the celebration will entail an extensive security and mobility operation, due to the closures of streets and avenues that will be applied throughout the route and therefore, the capital authorities recommended that drivers and users of public transport anticipate their trips and consider the alternative routes available to avoid setbacks.
The parade will travel along Paseo de la Reforma, Avenida JuarezEje Central Lázaro Cárdenas and 5 de Mayo Street, until concluding at the Zócalo capital. From early in the morning, the Secretariat of Citizen Security and the Road Orientation Center will deploy an operation to protect the safety of attendees and guarantee the mobility of the surrounding area.
Among the main recommended road alternatives are found: Interior Circuit, Axis 1 North, Avenue ChapultepecJosé María IzazagaFray Serving Teresa of Sea and Axis 1 East. These routes will allow you to travel through the center and surrounding areas without entering the roads blocked by the parade.
Regarding public transportation, Temporary modifications are planned in the service of the Metrobusmainly on lines 1, 3, 4 and 7, whose Reforma, Hamburgo, Hidalgo, Juárez, Balderas, Mina and Buenavista stations could remain closed during the passage of the contingent. The Metro could also register high influx at stations such as Zócalo-Tenochtitlan, Bellas Artes and Pino Suárez.
The capital authorities reported that road closures will begin hours before the event, so it is recommended to avoid traveling through the Historic Center and Reforma if you do not plan to attend the parade. Likewise, citizens are encouraged to use public transportation and plan their routes in advance.
