In a world dominated by major Western corporations, a model comes artificial intelligence Al-Arabi “Revolution” as an answer to a question that users have often asked: Where are the Arabs regarding artificial intelligence?
The uniqueness of “Thawra” is not limited only to the fact that it is primarily an Arab artificial intelligence model, but in the mechanism of operating the model itself and its reliance on technologies that differ from usual artificial intelligence models, according to a report by the “Tech for Palestine” website.
“Thawra” was born at the hands of two Syrian brothers, Hani and Saeed Al-Shehabi, who left Syria before 2011, and upon their arrival in Germany they decided to become interested in the world of computers and technology.
After years of working in major German technology companies, the two brothers decided to take a different approach, and put forward an Arab artificial intelligence model that cares about user privacy, provides real information, and is environmentally friendly.
Fundamentally different technology
At first glance, the “Revolution” model appears to be an attempt to Arabize artificial intelligence technology and add an Arab flavor to Western technologies that are spread globally and widely used in all parts of the world.
But the truth is different from that, as the “revolution” model is based on a different concept in the world of artificial intelligence, which was built by the giant technology companies behind “Shot at Bay” and others.
This difference begins with the mechanism of the model. “Thawra” relies on the “GLM-4.5 Air” model, which is an open source artificial intelligence model of the “mix of experts” type, and it has more than 100 billion different criteria. Instead of activating all of these criteria together at one time when asking each question, “Thawra” activates 12 billion criteria in each question.
This point alone gives the “Revolution” model a difference from the rest of the artificial intelligence models, which consume all their power when asking them every question, which makes them consume a huge amount of energy and computational power for every question.
The “Thawra” model boasts on its official website that it is 93% more effective than “GPT Chat” due to the mechanism of using unique standards, as well as being more energy efficient.
The official website of the “Revolution” model adds that using standards differently gives the model greater speed and accuracy in daily operations that do not require a lot of computing power, in addition to being less expensive to operate.
The model also features full compatibility with various programming interfaces thanks to its reliance on the developer package from “OpenAIThis makes it suitable for working with all Vibe Coding applications.
Privacy first before benefits
The Arab artificial intelligence model “Thawra” relies on the “DigitalOcean backend” and “TogetherAI inference” servers, both of which are fully secured servers and far from the influence of major technology companies or even governments, according to a report by the “Tech for Palestine” website.
Therefore, all conversations with “Thawra” remain fully protected and cannot be analyzed or sold by any third party, and this is despite the fact that “Thawra” keeps some conversations for purely technical purposes.
A completely Arab identity
Hani Al-Shehabi said during his conversation with the “Inside Baraka” website that his and his brother’s entry into the technology sector had a lasting impact on their lives and the lives of everyone around them, and this is the reason that prompted them to leave their jobs and take an interest in developing a “revolution,” especially with the Western blackout on Arab events in Palestine and elsewhere.

Al-Shehabi confirmed in his interview with the website that “Thawra” came as a direct response to the question of privacy in the world of artificial intelligence, as search engines have the option “DuckDuckGo,” messaging applications “Signal,” and browsers “Brave.” Al-Shehabi adds, saying: “My aunt talks to artificial intelligence more than anyone I know. I feel that this is a terrible thing because GBT chat lacks an ethical framework. This is scary.”
The two brothers confirmed during her conversation with “Inside Baraka” that the model is designed for users who are looking for artificial intelligence that has a good conscience, respects privacy, and defends marginalized communities, in addition to its full support for the Palestinian cause.
