Formally, Pedro Moctezuma Barragán This afternoon he assumed ownership of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (Sectei) from Mexico City, replacing Pablo Yanes Rizo.
At the event, both officials highlighted the beginning of a new stage to strengthen educational, scientific and technological policies in the country’s capital.

The new owner recognized the work of his predecessor and stressed that the Sectei will continue its work in favor of safe school environments, the promotion of science with a social focus and care for early childhood.
“I thank life for being able to address you in this time of women and in the midst of a time of transformation, for which education is truly essential along with science and technology,” she expressed.
In his speech, Pablo Yanes Rizo, who becomes the head of the Secretariat of Planning, Territorial Planning and Metropolitan Coordination, highlighted that the Head of Government “was wise enough to appoint Dr. Pedro Moctezuma as my replacement, so that the Sectei remains in excellent hands.”
He noted that the change strengthens the capital’s president’s team, “based on a participatory, transformative public administration with a territorial focus, which seeks to make the right to education a human right in all its complexity.”
