The judge in charge of the case did not exonerate the singer or his parents of the crime they are accused of.

MEXICO CITY.- The singer Christian Nodal issued a statement in which he reported that he had appeared, along with his parents Silvia Cristina Nodal Jiménez and Jesús Jaime González Terrazas, at a hearing in the Federal Courts of the East Prison, where a judge decided not to link him to proceedings for the crime of falsification of documents, as there was no evidence of the crime.
However, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) clarified to It just is! that the status of the legal process against the singer Christian Nodal and his family, derived from a complaint filed by his former record label Universal Music Since 2021 it has continued in progress and in no way has he been exonerated from the crime of which he is accused.
According to the investigations, Christian Nodal and his family assigned copyrights to certain musical works, but later claimed to be the owners of those works that no longer belonged to them.
The FGR specified that the judge in charge decided not to link it to the process, but established that there is a civil trial in progress related to the same matter, and that it is necessary to wait for the result of that procedure to determine whether or not the criminal action proceeds, so the procedure remains open while awaiting the resolution of the civil trial.
During this stage of the trial, both Nodal and his parents and Universal Music They may provide evidence before the FGR.
APPEAL
The FGR reported that it will present a legal appeal against the judge’s decision not to link the singer to the process at this stage.
