It seems that the love story between Brazilian star Neymar and Santos is heading for the worse, with tension growing between the two parties.

The tension between Neymar and his club increased a few days before the loss to Flamengo 3-2, a defeat that doubled the plight of the team that was trying hard to avoid the specter of relegation from the Brazilian League.

Neymar complained about the team’s performance and the mistakes of some of his teammates that led to conceding goals, and most importantly of all, coach Juan Pablo Voevoda’s decision to replace him, amid growing speculation about his tense relationship with his coach.

The website of the Brazilian newspaper Globo Sport indicated that the players and management were fed up with the behavior of the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star, and that he had become a burden on the team and did not contribute to its success.

According to the same newspaper, Neymar’s teammates, who watched in amazement his controversial reaction to the coach’s decision to replace him against Flamengo, saw that his gestures at the moment of his replacement were out of the ordinary and completely exaggerated.

Neymar was surprised by the decision to replace him with his teammate Benjamin Rolheiser 5 minutes before the end of the match, and left the field clearly angry.

Globo Sport newspaper explained that despite the state of discontent within the team, Santos does not plan to take any disciplinary measures or penalties against the player, noting that Neymar apologized to his teammates and stated that his complaint stemmed from his dissatisfaction with the referee’s performance.

Neymar participated in only 15 matches with Santos and missed 17 matches in the Brazilian League, as he suffered from repeated injuries.
