To strengthen the state’s road infrastructure and facilitate the mobility of thousands of inhabitants, The Government of Mexico inaugurated the new “Los Muros” Bridgea work built by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT).
The bridge, which connects with the Siglo XXI Highway and the Jojutla–Valle de Vázquez–Chinameca highwaywill benefit nearly 22 thousand people by streamlining regional transit and the transportation of sugar caneone of the main economic activities in the area.
With an investment of 26.6 million pesos, the construction of the bridge generated 285 direct and indirect jobs. The structure, 270 meters long, is part of the Tierra y Libertad Circuit and promises to improve road safety and communication between communities in the south of Morelos.
The new bridge was designed to withstand adverse weather conditions, was raised three meters above the previous grade, reducing the risk of flooding, and was expanded to two vehicular lanes for a more agile and safe flow.
In addition, it has a single 40-meter clear span without intermediate supports, which keeps the Yautepec River channel free and prevents obstructions during rainy seasons.
Due to its strategic location, The “Los Muros” Bridge is used by cargo trucks heading towards the Siglo XXI Highway, consolidating itself as a key route for the economic development and connectivity of the state.
