MLP’s recent announcement that it would lower its profit forecast for the current year has sent financial markets into turmoil. The company had originally forecast earnings before interest and taxes of around 100 to 110 million euros, but this expectation has now been reduced to 90 to 100 million euros. This adjustment led to a noticeable decline in the share price, which temporarily fell by four percent.
A key factor in the lowering of the forecast is MLP’s weak real estate business. In this area, the company is faced with rising financing costs and persistently weak demand. In contrast, operating business was relatively stable in the third quarter.
