“Every day we think about it and try to study it to prevent the tragedy from happening again and we have many means today to study them. Fortunately, we have a community of knowledge that has dedicated itself to the phenomenon. We need to equip ourselves with enough knowledge to build a truly effective combat system”these.
The minister took over “the commitment to amend the organic law in the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) to effectively and rationally reorganize its implementation in the territory with the purpose of clarifying the chains of command, of making them predictable and clear to everyone, of preventing the multiplication of initiatives, of instilling in a combat system the rationality of the response that is required”.
The Secretary of State for Civil Protection later added that the changes to the ANEPC organic law will be completed by the end of the year.
Questioned by PCP deputy Paula Santos about the financing system for humanitarian firefighter associations, the minister said that “it is a complex system that does not depend solely on the State Budget”, depending on other financing, such as local (local authorities) and private financing.
