A strong crowd of beneficiaries of the Mercomuna program caused an incident on the escalators of Ciudad Deportiva; Authorities had to limit entry and users opted to walk to nearby stations.

The accident took place on the escalators of the management Tacubayawhich received users en masse, who got stuck in them while they remained on, causing a chain crash.

What is the Mercomuna program?
Mercomuna is a program of the Government of Mexico City that grants vouchers of between one thousand and two thousand pesos to vulnerable families for the purchase of basic products. The support can be used in public markets and neighborhood businesses, with the intention of strengthening household income and boosting the local economy, for whom the authorities will exchange these vouchers for cash.
