The municipalities of Lisbon, Oeiras, Sintra, Tomar, Faro, Lagos and Olhão will be without electricity supply on Sunday, between 5:00 am and 11:00 am, due to work on the distribution network, operator E-Redes reported this Thursday, November 6th.
In a note published on its website, E-Redes explains that these are “programmed interruptions, previously scheduled”, with the aim of “guaranteeing the quality and reliability of the electrical service”.
“Maintaining the continuity and quality of the electricity supply is E-Redes’ priority. To this end, we carry out localized work on the distribution network, making it necessary to occasionally interrupt the electricity supply to customers”, explains the note.
The municipalities affected by this intervention are Lisbon, Oeiras and Sintra (in the district of Lisbon), Tomar (district of Santarém) and Faro, Lagos and Olhão (district of Faro).
In the case of Lisbon, the parish of Campolide, on Avenida Conselheiro Fernando de Sousa and Rua Professor Sousa da Câmara, will be affected, with the cut scheduled to occur between 5:00 and 11:00.
In Oeiras, the interruption of electricity supply will take place in the Union of Parishes of Algés, Linda-A-Velha and Cruz Quebrada-Dafundo between 07:00 and 11:00.
In the municipality of Sintra, the work will affect the Union of parishes of São João das Lampas and Terrugem between 06:00 and 11:00, while in Tomar the parishes of São João Batista and Santa Maria dos Olivais will be affected, between 06:00 and 07:00.
In the Algarve, cuts are planned in the parishes of Montenegro (Faro), Quelfes (Olhão) and São Gonçalo de Lagos (Lagos), between 07:00 and 11:00.
“During these interruptions, maneuvers, connection work, repair or conservation of network infrastructures are carried out, whenever all possibilities of alternative power supply from existing installations are exhausted”, indicates E-Redes.
According to the operator, “these interruptions also serve to correct situations that may cause insecurity in the electrical network and/or prevent breakdowns”.
