Salt and fertilizer manufacturer K+S achieved impressive results in the third quarter of 2025 that exceeded analysts’ expectations. Despite a reduction in sales volumes due to planned maintenance measures, the company was able to benefit from the increased fertilizer prices. Revenue rose to 979 million euros, compared to 866 million euros the previous year, while EBITDA rose from 66 million euros to 111 million euros.
K+S’s strategic decision to slightly reduce production in favor of a better product mix in the agricultural business is proving to be successful. The average fertilizer price was 336 euros per ton, an increase of over 8 percent compared to the previous year. This price increase contributed significantly to compensating for lower sales volumes and increasing profits.
Analysts had originally expected EBITDA of 105 million euros, but K+S significantly exceeded this forecast. CEO Christian H. Meyer confirmed that the EBITDA forecast for 2025 has now been clarified and should be between 570 and 630 million euros. This forecast adjustment demonstrates the company’s confidence in its strategic direction and market conditions.
Another positive aspect is the significantly lower reduction in inventory compared to the previous year, indicating more efficient inventory management and improved demand forecasting. Free cash flow remains slightly positive, although cash inflows for dividend assessment fell to 62 million euros after nine months, compared to 111 million euros in the previous year. In the fourth quarter, K+S is planning increased investments to ensure future competitiveness.
