The Israeli occupation authorities released the bodies of 45 Palestinian prisoners who were being held by the Israeli side, which announced on Monday that it identified the bodies of 3 soldiers that it had received from the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
Al Jazeera’s correspondent said that the International Committee of the Red Cross transferred the bodies of the seventh batch of martyrs to the Nasser Medical Complex in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip says that the occupation authorities have handed over the bodies of 270 martyrs since the start of implementation of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Earlier on Monday morning, the Israeli army announced the identification of the bodies of 3 soldiers, which it received from the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) through the International Committee of the Red Cross, including Colonel Assaf Hamami (40 years old).
Hamami was the commander of the Southern Brigade in the Gaza Division of the Israeli army, and is considered the highest-ranking officer captured by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, during the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023.
