The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that a person was martyred in an Israeli raid that targeted a car in the town of Mansouri, located in the Tire district in southern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Israeli Channel 13 said that the security system recommended a war in Lebanon in which the fighting would extend for several days.
In turn, the Israeli occupation army said that it continues to identify and destroy what it called Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon.
Regarding the Israeli raid, a Lebanese security source told Al Jazeera that an Israeli march targeted the car with two missiles, leading to its complete destruction.
The Lebanese News Agency confirmed the death of a martyr without clarifying the nature of the target that was targeted.
Since the American-brokered ceasefire took effect on November 27, 2024, Israel has continued to violate it on a daily basis, especially in southern Lebanon.
That agreement attempted to stop an aggression launched by Israel against Lebanon since October 2023, then in September 2024 it turned into a comprehensive war during which it killed more than 4,000 people and wounded about 17,000 others.
According to Anatolia Agency, Israel is still defying the agreement by continuing to occupy 5 Lebanese hills in the south, which it controlled in the last war, in addition to other Lebanese areas it has occupied for decades.
Complaint and condemnation
On the other hand, Lebanon announced the day before yesterday, Saturday, that it would file a complaint with the United Nations Security Council against Israel for building a concrete wall on Lebanon’s southern border “that crosses the Blue Line.”
The Blue Line is a line drawn by the United Nations, separating Lebanon from Israel and the Syrian Golan Heights, which is occupied by Tel Aviv. Israeli forces withdrew to the Blue Line when they left southern Lebanon in 2000.
On the other hand, the Lebanese army condemned yesterday, Sunday, the Israeli forces’ firing on a patrol of the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL), and said that it was working in coordination with friendly countries to stop the ongoing Israeli violations and violations.
The Lebanese Army statement said that no injuries were recorded during the incident, considering that these Israeli violations require immediate action as they represent a dangerous escalation.
The statement stressed that the Israeli enemy insists on violating Lebanese sovereignty, causing destabilization and obstructing the completion of the army’s deployment in the south. He pointed out that targeting the UNIFIL patrol is the latest of these condemnable attacks.
For its part, UNIFIL said that its soldiers were forced to take cover for about half an hour, during which the threat continued, as a ceasefire was requested through communication channels, and they were able to leave after the Israeli tank withdrew without recording any casualties.
UNIFIL added that shooting at its soldiers is a serious violation of Resolution 1701, calling on the Israeli army to stop any attacks on it.
On the other hand, the Israeli army claimed that its forces did not intentionally fire at UNIFIL forces, and said that it was working to address the matter through official military communication channels.
