At dawn and Saturday morning, the Israeli occupation army launched a series of air strikes accompanied by bombing operations, artillery shelling, and intense shooting, targeting several areas behind what has become known as the yellow line in the Gaza Strip.

In the city of Rafah, the southernmost part of the Strip, Israeli aircraft launched successive air strikes north and east of the city.

Local sources also reported that Israeli tanks fired heavy machine guns at citizens’ homes.

In this context, the Israeli occupation army said, in a statement yesterday evening, Friday, that its forces “have been working for weeks to destroy the remaining tunnels in Rafah and eliminate the militants inside them.”

The Israeli army’s statement comes after it announced the elimination of 6 resistance fighters who emerged from a tunnel inside the Yellow Line east of Rafah, in addition to the arrest of 5 others, according to its statement.

In the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, Israeli warplanes launched a series of raids east of the city, in addition to Israeli tanks shelling the city’s surroundings with a number of shells.

Local sources also reported hearing heavy gunfire from Israeli vehicles in the Qaizan al-Najjar area, south of the city.

In the central Gaza Strip, the areas east of the city of Deir al-Balah were subjected to intense Israeli artillery shelling behind the yellow line, amid intense flight of warplanes over the area.

In Gaza City, Israeli aircraft carried out a series of violent raids, coinciding with intense artillery shelling east of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood and gunfire from tanks stationed behind the yellow line.

The Israeli army also carried out bombing and destruction operations in the Shujaiya neighborhood, east of the city.

Dozens of Palestinian families were displaced from the Al-Tuffah and Al-Shuja’iya neighborhoods yesterday, Friday, after Israeli vehicles and armored vehicles entered about 300 meters into the two areas, expanding what is known as the Yellow Zone by pushing cement cubes towards the west.

Meanwhile, Israeli Channel 12 reported that the Israeli army used “large quantities of explosives” during its operations in the northern Gaza Strip in recent days.

Since the announcement of the entry into force of the ceasefire agreement on October 10, the occupation army has continued its bombing and destruction of the remaining buildings behind the “yellow line.” The families who returned to their destroyed homes are living in a state of instability and fear, due to the continued artillery shelling and shooting from Israeli military vehicles in the eastern regions of the Strip.
