The twisted logic that governs the actions of the Israeli occupation and the American administration has sparked a wave of ridicule, as exposing the crime of torture becomes more dangerous than committing it, and defending Christians turns into a selective game that serves political interests.
The episode (11/7/2025) of the satirical program “Al-Shabaka” highlighted the arrest of the Israeli military prosecutor in response to pressure from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, and Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir.
The program presenters revealed the scandalous irony that the charge against the plaintiff is related to leaking a video showing the torture of a Palestinian prisoner, and not the practice of torture itself. In Netanyahu’s twisted logic, the leak is considered the most dangerous to the image of Israel and its army.
The program presented this paradox with sarcasm, asking how the leak can be considered more dangerous than the practices of genocide, ethnic cleansing, siege, starvation, and occupation that have continued for decades?
The network presenters added in a sarcastic tone that Netanyahu and Ben Gvir believe that exposing their crimes to the world is what will tarnish their image, as if the entire world does not know the truth about what the Zionist entity practices daily in the occupied territories.
In a related context about exposing double standards at the international level, the program addressed US President Donald Trump’s threats of military intervention in Nigeria due to the persecution of Christians there.
A glaring paradox
The network’s presenters highlighted the stark contrast between this declared interest and the deafening silence regarding the suffering of Christians in Gaza and the churches destroyed by the Israeli occupation, specifically referring to the Church of St. Porphyrius, the Baptist Church, and the Church of the Holy Family.
The program concluded with bitter sarcasm that these churches and these Christians “do not belong to us,” in a clear reference to the blatant selectivity in American policy that defends some Christians and ignores the suffering of others based on political and strategic calculations that have nothing to do with declared humanitarian or religious principles.
At the level of nepotism and inheritance in Israeli institutions, the program moved on to address Netanyahu’s failure to pass on to his son, Yair, a high position in the World Zionist Organization, presenting a comedic scene simulating an employment interview that reveals the fragility of the qualifications on which the son relies.
The satirical scene showed how Yair reduces his full qualifications to just one phrase, “Netanyahu’s son,” showcasing his alleged achievements.
The scene ironically reflected how the culture of nepotism and inheritance is widespread in Israeli institutions, where family influence and big names become a complete substitute for competence, real qualifications, and practical experience.
In this scene, the program highlighted how Yair deals with any criticism or opposition with the logic of “extinguishing and silencing,” considering that personal interests always come before the interests of the organization or entity.
In the context of reviewing the regional and Arab paradoxes, the program highlighted the issue of the deportation of a Palestinian from an Arab country on a strange and ridiculous charge of refraining from drinking a “bottle of Pepsi,” in a clear reference to the campaigns targeting Palestinians in some Arab countries for trivial reasons that do not rise to the level of serious accusations that require such harsh measures.
On the global media level, the program moved on to talk about the boycott by more than 300 writers and academics of the New York Times due to its clear bias against Palestine, asking with bitter sarcasm whether anyone still believes that there is neutral and objective journalism in this world.
In the same context, the program pointed out that the giant companies Google and Amazon were accused of colluding with Israel in deals worth $1.2 billion, adding sarcastically that this huge amount is only what appears on the table, while what is happening in secret remains unknown.
At the end of the episode in a serious and documented tone, the program presented a comprehensive report on the law of executing Palestinian prisoners recently approved by the occupation, explaining that this law represents a new legal farce aimed at evading international accountability and giving a false cast of legitimacy to crimes that have been going on for many decades.
The report confirmed that the occupation killed at least 80 Palestinian prisoners during its “genocidal war” on Gaza, while more than 10,000 prisoners live under the burden of slow daily execution through systematic torture and deliberate medical neglect, stressing that this law is nothing but a cover to justify renewed old criminal practices under the slogan of self-defense.
