Trust in the government and politicians in Mexico is higher than in the rest of Latin America, according to recent statistics. These are the data:
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) carried out a survey in the middle of last year, the results of which indicated 52% of the population in Mexico trusts the federal government.
This places the country among the highest levels of trust among the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean..

Also 33% of Mexicans say they trust political partiesagainst 13% in Costa Rica, according to the OECD survey on the determinants of trust in public institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean, the results of which were released this Monday.
“In Mexico, 52% of people who say they are concerned about their financial and economic well-being express high or moderately high trust in the government, compared to 60% among those who do not express such concerns.”

In Latin America, 50% of those surveyed indicated they were satisfied with the educational level and in Mexico the figure reached 64 percent..
Regarding the health system, 40% of Latin Americans indicated they were happy, while in Mexico satisfaction reached 53 percent.
Regarding administrative services, the region registered an approval rate of 55%, but in Mexico and Costa Rica the percentage was higher, with an approval of 67% and 66%, respectively.

The OECD suggested that governments strengthen the interaction between public institutions and the population because “there is a wider margin for improvement” in the region with respect to what happens in the average of the 38 member countries of the organization.
“It is necessary to demonstrate effective accountability and open and responsive governance,” which has to do with the independence of public powers, especially that the Legislative Branch can review what has been done by the Executive.
The OECD indicated that crime, corruption, unemployment, inflation and poverty are the main problems that the population considers.
