A scene that shook Chimalhuacan re-exposed the seriousness of the family violence in the State of Mexico. A police operation ended with the rescue of an eight-month-old baby who was used as a shield by her own father, who was trying to avoid her arrest after violating his partner inside their home.
The case began when the mother managed to escape from the home, still with visible bruises, to ask for help from a patrol that was circulating in the area. Through tears, she reported that her husband, Fernando “N”, had attacked her and that the little girl remained inside, at risk. The officers responded immediately and upon entering found the man in an apparent state of intoxication, holding the woman. baby and threatening to hurt her with a knife if they intervened.
The tension took over the house. The police tried to talk to him, but Fernando “N” repeated threats, drunk and out of control. The agents evaluated every move to avoid a tragedy. At the most critical point, one of the elements decided to approach stealthily and, taking advantage of a moment of distraction, snatched the minor away, immediately taking her away from the aggressor.
The rest of the team took the opportunity to subdue the man, immobilize him and remove his weapon. The baby was handed over to paramedics for an initial medical evaluation, which confirmed that she had no injuries. She was later returned to her mother, who thanked the police intervention between sobs.
The detainee was transferred to the Public Ministry, where he will face charges of assault, threats and possible attempted homicide. The video of the moment, widely disseminated on social networks, has sparked a debate about the urgency of strengthening protection mechanisms for victims of family violence in Edomex, as well as the need for preventive protocols that prevent situations like this from escalating to levels of extreme risk.
