RAFAEL SUAREZ
After a historic year marked by recognitions and career-defining moments, the Latin GRAMMY®-winning group, Border Groupannounced his long-awaited international tour “Sad but good damn Tour 2026”with which they return after 3 years away from the stage. This new tour will take their sound to stages in South America, Central America, Europe and, of course, Mexico, marking a new stage in their global expansion.
The tour is part of the group’s new era after the release of their third studio album, Lo que me lacking for crying, a project that fuses vulnerability, energy and the unmistakable norteño-cumbia sound that has made them one of the most beloved and influential groups of the Mexican regional movement in recent years.
Inspired by the emotional irony of his song Triste pero bien cabrón alongside the Puerto Rican Myke Towersthe announcement of the tour comes accompanied by a video that reflects the central contrast of this new stage: sadness, relief and celebration. With the humor and authenticity that characterize the group, the clip shows the Mexican actor and producer, Luis Gerardo Méndez—known for series and films such as Club de Cuervos and Nuestros los Nobles—going through an emotionally chaotic day that, marked by the music of Border Groupends up becoming an invitation to get up, heal and enjoy. A perfect nod to the spirit of the “Sad but Good F*ck Tour”.
His passage through Latin GRAMMY® 2025 reaffirmed its position as one of the most influential groups of the genre, with nominations in the categories of Best Regional Mexican Song for Hecha pa’ mí and Me jalo with Fuerza Regida. The night was also marked by two memorable moments: a powerful tribute to legendary GRAMMY®-winning guitarist Carlos Santana, where Grupo Frontera shared the stage with Maluma and Christian Nodal to perform a medley of classics like Corazón Espinado and Oye como va, culminating with the first live performance of Me Retire, their most recent collaboration with Santana. The second moment was his energetic performance with Fuerza Regida, performing their great hit Me Jalo.
Con Sad but cool Tour, Grupo Frontera opens a new chapter in his career, bringing his sound and energy to new audiences around the world. After conquering stages in the United States and accumulating billions of global views, the group consolidates its international expansion and reaffirms its role as one of the most representative voices of modern Mexican regional music.
