The former rector of the UAEM has been a fugitive since 2021 and is linked to the diversion of 450 million from the 'Crusade Against Hunger' program.


The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) arrested the former rector in Cuautla, Morelos from the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos (UAEM)Alejandro ‘N’, for his alleged participation in the well-known Master Scam.

The former rector, who had been a fugitive from justice since 2021, would be linked to the ‘Master Scam’ as part of the diversion of 450 million pesos from the program “Crusade Against Hunger” which occurred during the administration of former PRI president Enrique Peña Nieto.

The arrest was confirmed through National Arrest Registry in which he highlighted that he was transferred to the delegation of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR) based in Cuernavaca.

They are arrest warrant was issued from March 25, 2021 under criminal case JC/860/20P17, while the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office issued its location card last April 19, 2021for their probable participation in illegal acts.

The professor and researcher, also a professor, began the protection trial 495/2020before the Second District Court based in Morelos, with which he managed to obtain a provisional suspension.

Since March 16, 2021, a judge declared Alejandro ‘N’ as stolen from the action of justicebecause he did not appear at his first hearingin which he would be accused of the crime of peculation.
