Chief Master Sgt. Krome Raymond, an outstanding air transportation specialist, has announced his retirement after more than two decades of service in the Air Force. During a ceremony at the Kentucky Air National Guard Base, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal by Col. Kevin Krauss, a recognition of his exceptional achievements.
Raymond’s career began in 1986 when he joined the active duty Air Force. After three years of service, he returned to the Kentucky Air Guard in 1993 where he served in various capacities. His return in 2010 marked the beginning of a new phase in which he served as Ramp Supervisor and later Air Terminal Operations Superintendent.
His leadership qualities and commitment to the people around him were highly valued by his superiors. Col. Krauss praised Raymond’s ability to boost the morale and well-being of the unit, emphasizing that Raymond was responsible not only for logistics, but most importantly for the people.
