Emmanuel Macron is finally in Mexico, after the French president’s visit to the country had been delayed from last September. This event marks the 200th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mexico and France, which began in 1830.
With a strong security device and fences placed around the capital’s Zócalo, the arrival of the president of France is being prepared, Emmanuel Macronto the National Palace, where will hold an official meeting with President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

According to the official program, The French president will enter the historic site through the Door of Honor, where he will be received by the Mexican president around 9:40 in the morning.. Later, both leaders will offer an official photograph in the Patio of Honor, as part of the diplomatic protocol.
Later, at 12:30 p.m., a joint conference is scheduledin which both leaders are expected to address issues of bilateral cooperation, culture and the environment, as well as the creation of a binational commission for the recovery of historical codices, including the Azcatitlan and the Borbonicus.

Since the early hours of this Friday, personnel from the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) and presidential security reinforced security at the main entrances to the Zócalo. In addition, metal fences were installed to facilitate the entry of the delegations and keep the passage to the National Palace clear.
The meeting between Sheinbaum and Macron is part of the diplomatic agenda that seeks to strengthen the relationship between Mexico and France.
Macron arrives in Mexico
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, arrived in Mexico early this Friday for an official visit focused on political, economic and cultural cooperation, and in which Mexico will seek the restitution of historical codices.

Macron landed at 00:50 local time (06:50 GMT) at Military Air Base Number 19 in Mexico City accompanied by a delegation of officials and was received by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Juan Ramón de la Fuente, who welcomed him on behalf of the Mexican Government, the Foreign Ministry reported.
