The Swedish national football team is going through one of its most difficult periods in history, and its shocking results in the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup finals are the best evidence of that.
The draw for the European qualifiers for the World Cup placed the Swedish team in the second group, alongside the teams of Switzerland, Slovenia and Kosovo.

The Swedish national team suffered 4 defeats, tied once, and while it scored 3 goals, it conceded 11 goals.

- Slovenia 2-2 Sweden.
- Kosovo 2-0 Sweden.
- Sweden 0-2 Switzerland.
- Sweden 0-1 Mosovo.
- Switzerland 4-1 Sweden.
The Swedish national team is scheduled to conclude its qualifying campaign next Tuesday, when it receives Slovenia in the sixth and final round, a match that will be a final achievement for both teams.
The Swedish Football Association had dismissed former coach Jone Dal Tomasson due to poor results, as he scored one point from the first four matches.
On October 20, the same federation announced the contract with Englishman Graham Potter to succeed Thomason, in a mission called “saving Sweden’s World Cup dream.”
