This Wednesday, October 15th, parliament approved a hearing with the director-general of the Tax and Customs Authority (AT) so that Helena Borges can take stock of the situation regarding the collection of taxes related to dams.
The request presented by the Chega party was unanimously approved by the Budget, Finance and Public Administration Commission (COFAP) with the favorable votes of all parliamentary groups present at this Wednesday’s meeting at the time of the vote (Chega, PSD, PS and Chega).
Chega deputy Patrícia Almeida considered that it is “necessary, after five years, for there to be a full explanation from AT, not only before parliament, but mainly those who feel most affected by the non-taxation of taxes related” to dams.
PSD deputy Hugo Carneiro said that the party agrees with the presence of the general director of AT.
PS deputy Miguel Costa Matos also said that, as this is “a topic that has beards”, it is advantageous to have “new accountability” on the matter.
