The construction sector maintained a positive performance throughout 2025, with production volume reaching 22,116 million euros by October, which corresponds to year-on-year growth of 3%, according to data released by AICCOPN based on INE’s quarterly accounts.

Gross Value Added rose 2% to 9,744 million euros, while investment in construction increased 7%, surpassing the evolution of total gross fixed capital formation, which grew 3.5%, and Gross Domestic Product, which increased 2.4%.

In the labor market, the sector employed around 374 thousand workers until October, 4.2% more than in the same period of the previous year. At the same time, credit requests from construction companies to financial institutions rose 8.3%, totaling 6,835 million euros.

Cement consumption recorded an accumulated increase of 1.8% until October, driven by accelerations in September and October, which reflected growth of 14.8% and 15.1% respectively. In terms of licensing, 30,615 dwellings in new construction were approved, a year-on-year increase of 21.1%, supported by an expansion of the area licensed for housing of 16.1 up to September.

In terms of public tenders, the total value up to October reached 9,164 million euros, 31% more compared to the same period last year, and works contracts concluded through tender totaled 6,885 million euros, a year-on-year increase of 76%.
